Welcome to a shared experience

Welcome to The Inner Workings! You’ll experience a collection of thoughts from an experience we are all currently sharing. If we stick together, we might get out in one piece.

The second thing on my mind

It has been exactly a week since I jotted down the first thing on my mind. Thinking back, I was more excited and open to this wacky situation. However, I’ve been working on this site for most of the morning because I desperately needed a change in focus from my work. Putting all of my thoughts down has really helped my mood and mental state. My suggestion for anyone reading who may be struggling with this is find something to focus on. It may be reading, a puzzle or journaling, but it’s important to engage your mind and find something to pour your energy in. So I dare you to buckle up and experience your Inner Workings.

“Daily, constantly, we choose by our desires, our thoughts, and our actions whether we want to be blessed or cursed, happy or miserable.”

Ezra Taft Benson

Words have always resonated with me. There’s beauty in a well constructed sentence, especially those we relate to. I found this quote but had to look up who Ezra was to understand where he was coming from when he said this. He was a government official and leader of his church. He lived during challenging times where events like this happened consistently. It’s a necessary reminder that these experiences are shared. Whether it’s you and me right now or those who lived through the challenge of the Spanish Flu. There will always be similarities in our struggles and we must understand how those before us got through if we want to help ourselves.
